Press release! Lineup change, and future plans.

Last summer, Lucy arrived at the difficult decision to leave the band in order to pursue her post doctoral career as a researcher and artist. To this end, she has started a job as Research Associate on the Digital Folk Project at the University of Sheffield.

We're all exceedingly grateful that having made the decision to leave, she was able to complete 'Red Diesel' before moving on. We couldn't imagine a better way to conclude this chapter of the band's story than by releasing a record so personally important to us.

Check out her website at www.artistic-researcher.co.uk or follow her on twitter. @research_artist

While we are very sad to see her go, we wish her every success for the future and hope she'll be able to make the occasional appearance with us from time to time.

With Lucy being such a recognisable voice, and dynamic talent, the decision as to what to do next was complicated. The three of us left went out for a big curry and decided that it was too much fun playing together to stop. But similarly, there wasn't going to be a like-for-like replacement, and it wouldn't be fair to put anyone in that position.

Extra poppadoms helped resolve the situation, and we invited Jude Rees to come along to a practice. Top class oboist, bagpiper, early woodwind expert, and fine singer to boot, Jude also owns a powerful collection of strange hats. She seemed the natural person to ask.

An experimental 'Let's see how we all get on' session soon turned into a provisional set list. It wasn't even a decision. Based around harmony and an even broader instrumental palette than ever, the sound was hugely exciting!

We like to think of this as having substituted a striker and brought on a creative midfielder.
